Polavaram will be completed by 2022: Design panel chief
VIJAYAWADA: Polavaram Project Dam Design Panel chairman AB Pandya has asserted that Polavaram venture will be completed by 2022 and expressed satisfaction over the progress of works on the venture web site.
Chairing the sixteenth Polavaram Project Dam Design Panel evaluate assembly in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday, he stated out of 48 radial gates, 29 had been fitted and options got to the engineers in fixing the remaining gates.
Radial gates of Polavaram venture are the biggest such gates on this planet, he stated and added that hydraulic cylinders and energy packs for the gates are being put in at an expeditious tempo. According to him, Polavaram Project Spillway pillars development at a top of 52 meters has been completed.
Spillway bridge works had been completed as much as 1,105 meters out of the full size of 1,128 meters.
During the assembly, venture officers knowledgeable that set up of the 192 girders, an important part of spillway development, has been completed as we speak (Saturday).
