Prince Harry, Meghan will not return as working members of royal family

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will not be returning as working members of the the royal family, Buckingham Palace stated in an announcement Friday.

Following a dialog with Harry, Queen Elizabeth II “has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of the royal family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service,” the assertion stated.

The information comes simply over a yr after the couple first introduced they might “step back” from their roles.

“The honorary military appointments and royal patronages held by the Duke and Duchess will therefore be returned to Her Majesty,” it added. These will then be redistributed amongst working members of the royal family.
