Puducherry Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi has greeted the people of the Union Territory on the occasion of ‘Pongal’ the harvest pageant of Tamils.

In her message, the LG stated Pongal, the four-day pageant is well known initially of the Tamil month ‘Thay’. The pageant is well known to precise gratitude to the Sun God, nature and cattle, reflecting our tradition and custom noticed by the Tamil  diaspora worldwide.
 

AIR Correspondent studies, The first day of Pongal is known as Bogi, and is well known in honour of Lord Indra. As a customary apply, In Puducherry people cleaned the houses and lit a bonfire to get rid of unused gadgets. 

Meanwhile, the Puducherry Pollution Control Committee propagated the message of controlling air air pollution throughout Bhogi by asking people to not burn tyres, plastics and rubber. The burning of tyres, plastics and undesirable family articles, let loose toxic gases which trigger irritation of eyes, nostril, throat, pores and skin, respiratory ailments equivalent to bronchial asthma, bronchitis and different well being issues.
