Queensland Health Minister Yvette D’Ath has reminded residents of the three reasons to line up for a PCR test – after the state recorded 5,699 new COVID cases.

“There should only be three reasons you come forward and line up for a PCR test,” Ms D’Ath said during a media conference on Tuesday.

She said these reasons are if someone has COVID symptoms, if they have received a positive result from a rapid antigen test, or if they are a household close contact on day six of isolation and have not managed to get a rapid antigen test.

She also said there will be half a million rapid antigen tests dispatched to testing clinics which will specifically be for household close contacts for their day six test.Queensland Health Minister Yvette D’Ath has reminded residents of the three reasons to line up for a PCR test – after the state recorded 5,699 new COVID cases.
