Queensland tightens border controls with NSW

Queensland has tightened its border controls with New South Wales which remains in lockdown due to the Delta variant of COVID.

Travel is restricted to a short list of essential workers which does not include childcare workers and teachers.

Border zone residents can only enter Queensland for essential goods and services that cannot be found in New South Wales.

Drivers have been told to expect delays as police will intercept every vehicle trying to cross the border.
