‘Really good news’: Queensland records one new COVID-19 case

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says in “really good news” Queensland has only recorded one new locally acquired case of COVID-19 which is a close contact of two known cases detected in home quarantine.

“I think Queenslanders should be extremely happy with that news,” she said.

“Today, I just want to do a quick shout-out to all of our hospital and healthcare workers around the state. They are doing an extraordinary job.

“And on behalf of all Queenslanders, I want to thank them for everything that they are doing.

“Whether they are doing the tests, whether they are making sure that people are getting their vaccines, working on the front line, whether they're working in COVID wards or in our hospitals, they are doing a tremendous effort.”
