Sadie Sink Is On Board With This Surprising Denim Trend

Actor Sadie Sink made an appearance this morning on the Today Show to chat about her new film The Whale, as well as the forthcoming final season of Stranger Things. Though the morning show tapes bright and early at 7 a.m., Sink made sure to wear a fashion-forward look for the occasion (no rolling out of bed for her!). She was spotted heading into the building in a tailored black overcoat—but it was her bejeweled jeans that immediately caught our eye.

Sink made a statement by wearing Givenchy’s pearl-encrusted denim. (They retail for $4,250—talk about luxe). It may be an unexpected choice, but maximalist denim is having a major moment on the runways. For spring 2023, Dolce & Gabbana’s jeans featured lace appliqués, Versace’s had artful slashes, and Y/Project even showed denim-jersey skirt hybrids. In other words, these aren’t your classic blue jeans! Sink is right on-trend with her take, and her pearl-covered style instantly added glitz to her casual-cool look. Who says formalwear has to include a gown? Just be sure to add a heel to it, like Sink did—it will help make it feel less gaudy, and more sophisticated.
