Sky News confirms Sydney lockdown extension

Sky News has confirmed Greater Sydney’s lockdown will not expire on Friday as planned and will be extended until July 16.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian will formally announce the extension at an 11am media conference this morning.

Ms Berejiklian is also expected to lay out a road map for life beyond lockdown which will give the public an idea of the restrictions which will remain in place.  

The lockdown extension means schools will not go back to face to face learning next week when term three begins.
