KARIMNAGAR: After a household going through social boycott at Challur village in Veenavanka mandal lodged a grievance with the Commissioner of Police, Veenavanka police registered a case in opposition to four community heads answerable for the boycott.
They have been charged beneath Sections 504 and 506 of the IPC and the Protection of Civil Rights Act. Veenavanka SI N Kiran Reddy informed the media, on Wednesday, that primarily based on a plaint by Vemula Sandhya, who was not allowed to attend her father’s funeral, a case has been registered in opposition to village heads Chintakindi Srinivas, Chinndakindi Kumara Swamy, Chintakindi Mahender and Adepu Venkateshwarlu. It could also be recalled that Sandhya’s brother Adepu Srinivas received married to a lady of one other caste in March 2020. Since then, Srinivas’ household has been going through social boycott and haven’t been invited to any occasions. In December 2020, Srinivas and Sandhya’s father Bhumaiah died resulting from an sickness.
