Students discuss key issues for G20 in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Think20 (T20) which serves as an idea bank for the G20 by bringing together think tanks and high-level experts to discuss policy issues relevant to the G20 hosted an event in Bengaluru on Friday to address issues related to gender, startups, digital technology, economy, sustainable tourism, blended finance, agriculture and data for development. Students from Dr BR Ambedkar School of Economics University in collaboration with Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA) made presentations on the seven themes of T20 this year and made observations with regard to what G20 could do to address challenges.
Ambassador Sujan R Chinoy, the T20 Chair of India’s Presidency said,“Given the backdrop of rising global tensions, looming recessions, unchecked digital reliance and fractured institutions, India had a critical role to play.” He also highlighted that there is a need for the youth to receive a good education that will drive them toward progress and development.
Dr NR Bhanumurthy, the Vice-Chancellor of BASEU and the Chair of the T20, Task Force 1 said, “India stands as a bright spot and is more than capable to help evolve a framework for macro-fiscal-monetary coordination.”
