Submit election expenses: EC warns newly-elected GHMC corporators

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Election Commissioner C Partha Sarathi has threatened to debar the newly elected GHMC Corporators from contesting an election in future in the event that they fail to submit their election bills particulars.  The newly-elected corporators haven’t but taken an oath of the workplace. 

All the newly-elected corporators should submit their election bills particulars to the Election Commission.  The State Election Commission shall maintain a gathering with 30 election observers to acquire details about these corporators who haven’t submitted their expenditure particulars. The Election observers shall difficulty notices to such corporators to submit their expenditure particulars. If they nonetheless fail to take action then they shall be debarred in future to take part in any election.

The Election Commissioner mentioned, “The names of the newly elected coroprators shall be published in Gazette soon.  The gazette notification  is expected to be issued after January 10, 2021.  If the names of the newly elected corporators are published before January 11, the GHMC council’s meeting must be held before 11th February.”

According to sources, the profitable candidates should submit their election bills particulars inside 45 days to the Election Commission.  It is claimed that greater than 2000 candidates who didn’t submit their election bills have been debarred from contesting any election for the following three years.  After reviewing the election observer’s report about election expenditures, it shall be determined whether or not or not the expenditures incurred have been inside the permissible limits.
