Sydney’s COVID-19 outbreak is ‘plateauing’

Deakin University Chair of Epidemiology Professor Catherine Bennett says Greater Sydney’s COVID-19 outbreak is “definitely looking like it’s plateauing”.

“It’s definitely looking like it’s plateauing, of course, the outbreak is shifting a bit outside those hotspots into other areas – that’s the concern, we don’t want it to take off there,” she told Sky News host Chris Smith.

“The case numbers on a daily basis, that reproductive number has definitely plateaued now for more than a week.”
