Talking Preps NC returns Monday night at 8 (replays after).

On tap:

In “The Rundown”: Gary talks UNC football hires as well as pop-up high schools. Is going to play at a school that doesn’t have a campus — while sometimes taking classes at another school — a liability? We discuss fights and shootings at recent tournaments, as well as how schools will proceed with the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

Weddington High star Chase Lowe stops by to talk about his team, which is No. 3 in the All-NC statewide rankings. He’ll also face off with coach Randall on the Game Show (will Randall do better than Sam?).

Chelsea sits down with Millbrook freshman Colt Langdon, who has some pretty lofty team and individual goals. He’s also one of the state’s top players in the class of 2025.

We debut the 32 players in our Mr. and Ms. Basketball Watchlists for the state’s top player. Like in football, we’ll whittle this down during the season and announce a final three before the regional round of the playoffs. The winners will be announced the week of the state finals.

Coach Rick and Alex debut their weekly All-NC state rankings (and we told you where Weddington is). And on our Basketball ‘Coach vs. Coach’ segment, Gary and Randall debate high school players wearing face masks on the court, using a shot clock in North Carolina and does anyone really like playing boys and girls junior varsity and varsity games — a quadruple-header — every Tuesday and Friday.

Watch live Monday, Jan. 10, live at 8 p.m. or on Twitter, YouTube or Facebook. Replays are available after.
