Taxpayer money ‘funding misinformation’ on Paul Barry’s Media Watch

Sky News host Chris Kenny says taxpayer money is “funding misinformation” when it comes to the “overly ideological and habitually deceptive” Paul Barry on ABC show Media Watch.

“Barry is obsessed with promoting his alarmist views on global warming, and twisting the facts to attack any reporting that is not alarmist enough,” Mr Kenny said.

“But more than anything, he is obsessed with spending taxpayers’ money attacking the commercial media that pays its own way, especially the owners of this station, News Corp.”

Mr Kenny pointed to analysis of Media Watch over the past 10 months, which reveals that “of almost 400 critical pieces, more than 50 per cent have been directed at News Corp – with Sky News his top target”.

“He has misled audiences to attack this show, and create a false impression about what I’ve reported, he’s done the same to mischaracterise what Andrew Bolt has reported and so on.”
