Telangana HC grants bail to rape accused IAS officer – Deccan News

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Thursday granted bail to a student IAS officer accused of cheating and raping a woman by making a false marriage vow.

Apprentice IAS officer Mrugender Lal, who is currently training at Madurai District Collectorate in Tamil Nadu, is accused of raping the woman since 2019. He allegedly committed the crime by threatening to cancel the marriage.

The victim lodged a complaint against the student IAS officer at the Kukatpally police station.

Judge Kanneganti Lalitha on Thursday also granted a 15-day preventive bail to Lal’s father, Madan Lal Banoth, former TRS MPL of Wyra constituency in the Khammam district.

The court further ordered the relevant authorities to submit the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report in the next trial.
