Telangana: Last two TDP MLAs defect to TRS

The solely two remaining Telugu Desam Party Legislators in Telangana Wednesday night joined the ruling social gathering and merged the TDP Legislature Party (TDPLP) into Telangana Rashtra Samithi Legislature Party (TRSLP).

Mecha Nageshwara Rao who represents Ashwaraopet constituency and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah who represents Sathupalli have been the one MLAs in Telangana Legislative Assembly to have received on TDP tickets. On Wednesday, Nageshwara Rao maintained that he couldn’t do justice to the folks of his constituency within the final two and a half years, and being the ruling social gathering’s MLA may assist him serve the folks higher.

The two MLAs gave a letter to the Assembly speaker Pocharam Sreenivas Reddy requesting the merger. This adopted their assembly with Chief Minister and TRS supremo Ok Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan.

In the 2018 normal elections, TRS had received 88 seats. Later, 12 Congress MLAs joined TRS. In a bulletin from the state Legislature on Wednesday, the Secretary mentioned that the two TDP MLAs submitted a letter to the Speaker stating that they’ve resolved to merge with TRSLP underneath Paragraph 4 of the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution of India and requested to take acceptable motion within the matter. Similarly, the TRS too communicated to the Speaker relating to the merger of TDPLP into it. The merger was deemed and accordingly, the two members have been allotted seats together with the Members of TRSLP within the House, the bulletin mentioned.

Founded in 1982 by the legendary NT Rama Rao, TDP stormed to energy in 1983 driving on the theme of self-respect for Telugu folks. The social gathering was in energy until 1989 and remained in energy from 1994 to 2004. Even within the 2014 normal elections held quickly after the bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, the TDP had managed to win as many as 15 seats in Telangana whereas forming its authorities within the residual state.
