Hyderabad: Telangana’s chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), in a review meeting on Sunday, set aside all speculation about a possible curfew rule and restriction in the state, as such a decision was not taken. He announced that stimulant shots from the COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to frontline workers, senior citizens and health care workers from Monday, January 10th.
On Sunday, the state government also extended its ban on rallies, public gatherings and mass gatherings until January 20 with a view to increasing COVID-19 cases in India.
The prime minister also advised the public not to move in groups, especially during the Sankranthi holidays. He asked people to stay home and celebrate while taking all precautions against the COVID-19 virus.
KCR also advised people to “be vigilant, take self-regulatory measures and follow government guidelines”, while urging citizens to “put all fears aside” COVID-19 variant. He also announced that the third dose (booster shot) will be administered to all qualifying frontline workers, people over the age of 60 and healthcare workers.
The Chief Minister of Telangana made the announcements during a review meeting held at Pragathi Bhavan to address the situation of COVID-19 in the state, along with the vigilance of the medical and health departments. KCR also reviewed the progress of the Roads & Buildings (R&B) and Irrigation Departments in the meeting.
During the event, the Prime Minister advised people to (*10*) and all others COVID-19 protocol. He also asked the public to get themselves vaccinated, including those between the ages of 15-18.
“Those who have symptoms of COVID-19 should seek immediate medical attention to receive treatment, ”CM KCR advised. He reiterated that the state government is well equipped and prepared for any situation that arises due to COVID-19.
The officials of the medical and health department submitted a report to KCR on the measures taken following its instructions, after the previous review meeting. They also assure the prime minister that arrangements have been made for adequate oxygen beds, medicines and other facilities needed.
Development of the new secretariat
According to a statement from its office, KR has also reviewed the development and progress of the new Secretariat building complex, which is nearing completion. He instructed R&B Minister Prashanth Reddy to speed up important works along with works on the landscape, security system, etc.
KCR also said that the modern police command control building, with 24-hour vigilance, should also be speeded up.
On Sunday, KCR also reviewed the progress of irrigation projects in the state. He issued various instructions and suggestions in this regard to the department’s officials. He reviewed the Detailed Project Reports (DPR) of works on the Godavari River and instructed officials to prepare information and data, as sought by the Central Water Commission, in order to obtain permits as early as possible.
