‘The Prime Minister drew a line in the sand this week’

Sky News host Catherine McGregor says the past 24 hours "may well set the tone" for the remainder of the Scott Morrison Prime Ministership, stating the Prime Minister "drew a line in the sand" in the culture wars.

"Speaking at a dinner for the United Israel Appeal the Prime Minister made some heartfelt remarks about individual human dignity," she said.

"He repudiated identity politics as an anathema to the broad Judeo-Christian foundations of our nation and the broader Western project-invoking the late Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks.

"Last night was clearly a clarion call to arms in the culture wars. The choice of audience was shrewd and built on the Prime Minister's speech earlier this week to a Christian audience on the Gold Coast.

"Having eschewed the culture wars as a distraction, it seems to me that the Prime Minister drew a line in the sand this week."
