Toowoomba quarantine scheme is an ‘attempt to fob off responsibility’

Queensland LNP MP Garth Hamilton says the idea for Toowoomba to have hotel quarantine facilities is a “big distraction” from the Palazczuk government for its failed mining camp quarantine proposal.

“We feel like we’ve been treated without any respect from the premier whatsoever, this plan of hers has fallen very flat up here,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.

Mr Hamilton said Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s proposal was an “attempt to fob off responsibility” for improving hotel quarantine in the state and had no depth of consideration to it.

“There was never any detail to this, there was never any conviction in this, and at best this is an attempt to fob off responsibility for ensuring these quarantine facilities work in our state.”
