Two killed after tanker truck hits them while backing up from fire, Ohio police say


William and Karolyn Reed, 72, died after a tanker truck hit them while backing away from the scene of a hearth in Washington County, Ohio, state police say. 

Two individuals died after a fireplace truck backed away from a blaze and hit them, Ohio police say.

William Reed and Karolyn Reed, each 72, had been struck by a tanker reversing on the scene of a construction fireplace Thursday night time in Washington County, in line with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

They didn’t reside on the property, police say, and their motive for being on the scene of the fireplace was not launched Friday.

The truck was operated by the Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department, police say.

The crash stays below investigation.
