North Carolina’s men’s basketball game against Virginia Tech scheduled for Wednesday is one of three ACC games to be postponed that day. The league is looking to reschedule the game.
The Hokies had several people within their program enter COVID-19 protocols this week.
It is possible the Tar Heels’ game at Boston College scheduled for Saturday could be subject to postponement, too.
The Eagles entered the protocol last week and had their game at Wake Forest for Dec. 22 canceled. It was initially ruled a forfeit, but the ACC revisited its COVID policy due to the Omicron variant to reflect the rapidly changing landscape. The league essentially wants to be as flexible for rescheduling games as it was last season before there was a vaccine for the virus.
Boston College also had its Wednesday game against Florida State postponed. Duke’s game at Clemson was the third game the league had to postpone that was on Wednesday’s slate. The Blue Devils reportedly will also have to reschedule their game at Notre Dame set for Saturday while they clear the protocol.
