Victoria has recorded 190 cases of community transmission overnight, with 87 cases still currently under investigation.
Of the newly reported cases, 103 are presently linked to known outbreaks, taking the state’s tally of active cases to 1,301.
Meanwhile, 76 Victorians are currently in hospital, 23 positive cases in ICU and another 14 people requiring a ventilator as authorities confirmed none of those requiring treatment were fully vaccinated.
Officials thanked residents for coming out in droves for testing.
“In terms of testing, there were 49,548 tests administered yesterday, 86 per cent of them were turned around within 24 hours and 98 per cent within a day,” Minister for Industry Support & Recovery Martin Pakula said.
“It is great to see thousands of Victorians out there yesterday getting tested to protect themselves and their families.”
