Victorian businesses ‘scraping bottom of the barrel cashflow-wise’

The Motley Fool’s Scott Phillips says there are plenty of small businesses in Victoria that just cannot keep going after the fourth lockdown in 18 months.

“Both the businesses and their employees as well now find themselves really scraping the bottom of the barrel cashflow-wise,” Mr Phillips told Sky News.

Victoria’s acting premier has given the biggest indication yet that the state’s seven-day lockdown may be extended saying the situation may well “get worse before it gets better”.

There are now 51 active cases in the state and Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton said the current lockdown - which is due to expire on Friday - is being re-evaluated on a daily basis.
