The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recently announced that several parts in Andheri, Vile Parle, Khar and Santacruz would face water issues on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, as the concerned department has planned maintenance work, both in East and West parts of the locality.
The supply valve for the above-mentioned areas will be checked by the officials and hence, the water supply will be affected for 12 hours, from 10 am and 10 pm.

Following areas will experience low pressure or water supply disruption:

- AK Marg
- Four Bangalows
- Gilbert Hill
- Gundwali Gaothan
- Jiva Mahale Road
- Khar (West)
- Khar Linking Road
- Khar SV Road
- N C Phadke Road
- Nehru Nagar
- New Nagardas Road
- Old Nagardas Road
- Sahar Road
- Santacruz (West)
- Teli Galli
- Vile Parle East (all areas)
Citizens have been asked to take a note of the same and save water as per needed. Furthermore, BMC data reveals that the amount of water used by y the people in Mumbai has also increased over time.
Meanwhile, BMC recently decided to replace old water pumps at Kalbadevi And Fort to help citizens. As per reports, this will offer relief to the residents in those areas. According to sources, the water reservoir has a capacity of 10 million litres under the Azad Maidan in front of the BMC headquarters.
On the other hand, the civic body in the first few days of July 2021, has cut off electricity and water connection at 154 high-risk buildings. This step was taken to ensure the residents evacuate the high risk building in the cities. As per reports, the city has over 400 buildings which have been marked as extremely risky to occupy, however, the residents refused to evacuate them despite of several warnings and the danger.
